DADA — Selected Writings

DADA — Selected Writings is a typographic book I designed for my Typography class, built around an excerpt from Tristan Tzara’s “Dada Manifesto 1918.” Working with a limit of two or three colors, I built the book around yellow and black so the type carries every page.

I pulled single words and phrases out of the manifesto, like “humanity,” “spirit,” “life,” and “boom,” then stretched, split, cropped, and stacked them so each spread hits like a poster. I kept the layouts intentional and consistent from page to page, with the same palette, bold type, and recurring black bars, so the book reads as one piece even as the type gets louder.
